📖 For You, Lord, have made me joyful by what You have done, I will sing for joy over the works of Your hands. Psalm 92:4 NASB ☺️
That little word “glad” really stands out to me in Psalm 92:4 Mainly because I don’t hear the word often. I hear “happiness” all the time, and, of course, we Christians talk especially of “Joy” but ‘Gladness’ seems to entail both.. and, I wonder: What if the psalmist here is actually experiencing painful circumstances as he writes these words? What if he consciously gazes above and BEYOND the chaos to smile at a sunrise or sunset or laugh with a child or hug a loved one?
🌈 Might the psalmist gladness result from discovering God’s handiwork amidst a tapestry that seems to be unraveling? 🌈
Friend, if we can’t see the goodness of God TODAY, we can’t be GLAD in God TODAY.
So…. look around you ~~ Cause there IS cause to REJOICE 😀🌈💖🌺📖🙌🪔 ~🖊
J.S. Davey Further Reflection:
Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved. Acts 2:46-27 NASB
