Sound The Trumpet Anyway

Here in the community that prides itself as being the buckle of Manitoba’s Bible Belt, Winkler Manitoba, it is now a violation of the noise by laws to project your voice more than 100 ft. while preaching open air sermons in a public park.

I was informed by the town’s bi law officer that he had received numerous complaints (even from members of council) that my preaching was too loud, and violate the noise code.
No one has had the courage to confront me personally about their complaint.

In three years of Gospel in The Park, I was informed once by the mayor himself, that “someone” had complained about the volume.
I invited the mayor and council (the majority of whom are professing believers) to personally attend and to check it out themselves. They have as yet declined the invitation. This was two years ago during the first year of this preaching and I have heard nothing more about it until this past week.

The Bible tells believers to:
Sound the trumpet and warn the wicked.
To cry aloud and spare not to warn the lost.
To shout from the housetop the impending judgments.

This has been done for three years for about one hour every Tuesday evening, and now there is a pending threat of a fine and possible incarceration if the by law is not conformed to.

Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

Gospel In The Park will continue at Winkler’s Bethel Park, Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.
